FREDDY VS JASON

Video Date Release: January 13, 2004

Rated: R

Starring:

Monica Keena
Kelly Rowland
John Ritter

The two masters in horror, Freddy and Jason return, but this time they combine forces and give elm street a massacre they have never experienced before. But once the greedy murders from both end take place its only a matter of time before they meet face to face.

Sypnosis:

Everyone on Elm street has forgotten Freddy, but in a week attempt to rekindle his presence, Freddy returns in Jason's dreams and has him return to Elm street so that they will remember Freddy's murders and bring him back.

Before seeing this film, I prepared myself for a let down because the concept of having both Freddy and Jason in the same movie would be very difficult to pull off. After the first twenty minutes they geniously pulled off what I thought was impossible. So after I grabbed on to this concept it kept my attention. I've noticed also in this film, unlike the previous Nightmare On the Elm Street or Friday the 13th movies, that modern technology was used and more fighting scenes were explored. The computerized effects in this are excellent and bring a realism to the movie. The fighting scenes in the movie use the choreographed techniques that you might see in Charlie's Angels or Matrix, ok well maybe not as advanced, but close! Anyhow, if the movie was dissected the creativity is appreciated. Although after interviewing many viewers, this movie as a whole is not satisfactory. But if you were looking for blood and gore, then you are ready for a great ride full of blood and guts.

FYI: Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child makes her film debut in this movie.

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE

Video Release Date: March 3, 2004

Rated: R

Starring:

Jessica Biel
Jonathon Tucker

A remake of the horror classic comes back to the screen to firghten viewers and make them wet their pants. This time with the combination with todays technology and more developed story line it is a movie that will raise the scream meter.

Sypnosis:

A group of friends decide to take a detour and while traveling on the back roads they come face to face with maniac armed with a chainsaw designed for mass destruction.

Not much can be said about horror films anymore, either you enjoy the high contrived by fright or you watch it because everyone wants you to. The most loved Chainsaw Massacre has been a classic that is constantly remade or based off the original. This newest version pushes the limits with visionary of pain and disgust. For those hard core horror goers, this will be a delight for sore eyes, but for those looking for plot, it exists you just might have to look for it.

FYI: This movie is actually based on a true story.
